The Wish List – Table Lamps

“Light is the magical ingredient that makes or breaks a space” a wonderful piece of advice from interior designer, Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz. We couldn’t agree more. Lighting not only makes your space but also sets the mood. Get it wrong in your bedroom and your ability to relax is at risk. Over light your dining room and your guests will be gone before you’ve put the coffee on. A little extreme perhaps, but you get the idea.

This time of year, we turn to the table lamp – a glowing capsule of coziness to help illuminate the darker evenings. We couldn’t quite get through the winter months without them, so let us introduce you to a few of our personal favourites:

The Retro Magpie

There’s something slightly Seventies about our Portobello lamp. The smoked glass will give a gentle glow to a room – and it’s bang on trend this season. As is the brushed, brass base that adds an extra pop of glamour.

The Modern Traditionalist

If you’re tempted by traditional shaped lamps but fancy something with a bit more flair, meet our Carmen lamp. Tall, dark and handsome, the antique brass style base gets a little fruity with a decorative pineapple motif. Aye carumba!

The Elegant Nester

Reminiscent of a classic Emeralite, with its modernist shape and elegant balance of brass base and bright white shade, our Bimini lamp burns bright from desk to dining room. A little bit Mad Men, but definitely not just for the boys.

The Best Friend Forever

Think of our Janet lamp as being like your most reliable, dependable interiors friend. The cool, crisp white base and shade work effortlessly in any scheme. You’ll never fall out with its timeless curves.

The Industrialist

Masculine yet elegant, our Trenchant lamp is an adaptable creature that will look especially at home in a loft apartment or alongside other industrial-inspired accessories. Got a teenager? This is their homework incentive.

Perch & Parrow tip: Spread the light sources in the room. A great rule to follow is five lighting points for a small room – and seven for a larger space.
